This policy is valid as of February 23rd 2017. This policy is subject to change at any time and will be done so without notice or consent, as is my right.
The reading of all content on The Digital Crusader is entirely of your own free will. I will not be held accountable or liable for any errors or loss of time, finances or face in connection with the use of this site.
That also applies to anybody else who may be beside you as you read, including your babysitter, your dog or your dog’s babysitter. If you don’t accept these terms, you should probably mosey on down the road.
However if you’re keen to read some fantabulous articles on travel & developing a creative lifestyle outside the box then stick around, you’ll not be disappointed! (If you are disappointed, please let me know how I can turn that frown upside-down!)
Generally speaking, I’m pretty anal on the fine details, however my hawk’s eye can fail me sometimes and then I suffer the horrifying shock of discovering a glaring error in my content, long after it has been made public.
I would never try to lead you up the garden path or off the edge of a cliff but as time marches on, the accuracy of some content may become a wee bit detached from the present reality. I certainly hope that doesn’t cause you any trouble but feel free to let me know if any of my ramblings are wide of the mark, I’ll be more than grateful and will quickly slap and reprimand the big bad website for misleading you.
2 – Copyright Policy
Unless otherwise stated, all material on The Digital Crusader is the property of C.J. Haughey. This includes but is not limited to written content, photography, video, graphics, philosophical theories, plans for world domination and potentially viral hashtags. All work on the site is protected by copyright law and may not be copied, reproduced, modified or parodied without prior written consent by C.J. Haughey.
Any content approved for borrowing must include credit to the original creator (that’s me!) in the form of a link to thedigitalcrusader.com.
Guest bloggers and other contributors to The Digital Crusader are responsible for their own submitted material on my website and must ensure that their work complies with all relevant laws. Should I discover copyright breaches in the works of guest contributions, I reserve the right to edit or remove the work entirely from my site without notice or so much as an explanation.
3 – Hold Harmless
All the information on this site is provided for general information and entertainment purposes only. Although the content on The Digital Crusader is crafted in a mesmerizing, enchanting literary bouquet of spendifirous magical wonder, you should know that it is still merely the humble opinion of a solitary human – C.J. Haughey. (That’s me again!)
You read, analyze, consume and share this information at your own leisure and risk, knowing full well that I am not a professional and The Digital Crusader is not providing any professional advice through this site. If I say that I was able to hire a dodgy motorcycle in South East Asia but then you get busted for the same escapade, I can’t help you. You should call a lawyer.
Under no circumstances will I be liable for any loss or damage arising in connection with the use of this website.
On the other hand, should this site inspire you to great things, I will accept full credit in the form of a postcard photo of you and a friendly monkey. Not one in captivity though, it must be wild and free.
I aim to keep The Digital Crusader operational round the clock, every day of the year, however somethings the shizzle may indeed hit the proverbial fan. As much of a digital nerd as I aim to be, problems do happen and access to the site may sometimes be impossible.
If this happens, please remain on the site and imagine you are reading something wonderful instead of an error screen. Occasionally laugh out loud and point at the screen and know that The Digital Crusader will be back soon, even if you die of hunger first.
4 – Privacy Statement
Any personal and/or contact information provided to me will be kept private. You will not be spammed in any way. Spam is for terrible sandwiches. I hate sandwiches. #toastiesforlife
Rest assured, I will not sell or disclose your information to any other companies.
Also know that I am not responsible for the privacy practices of any of my advertisers or blog commenters.
5 – Reserve Rights
I also reserve the rights to edit or delete any comments submitted to The Digital Crusader without notice due to: comments deemed to be spam or questionable spam, comments including profanity, comments containing language or concepts that could be deemed offensive, comments that attack a group or person individually, or comments from relatives that may be deemed cringe-worthy or embarrassing.
6 – Advertisers and Sponsors
I am not responsible for the actions (or inactions) of my advertisers or sponsors. If you purchase a product or service based upon a link from my website, you must take action with that company to resolve any issues, not The Digital Crusader.
Any product, claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question.
To help the website expand, to cover costs of running the site and in order to develop the best possible service for YOU, some advertising and affiliate links will be run on my website. Affiliate links will earn me a small commission on any subsequent purchases made after clicking on one of these links.
It is my aim to build and shape The Digital Crusader into a solid, authoritative BS-free resource for those interested in developing a lifestyle of immersion-travel and creative living – one that you will tell your friends to visit to get the real truth about awesome stuff like teaching English in Korea, living cheap with the locals in Chile or being a freelance writer who owns a bookstore/coffee shop near a jungle in Colombia.
I have no intentions of being a sell-out as I am in this for the long-haul. This is about developing a career, not growing a cash cow.
I will do my absolute best to only provide you with information about related products that I genuinely believe in. I will never take your trust for granted. All reviews on my website will be presented honestly and I will disclose whether I will be receiving any commissions or free products.
7 – Letters to the Editor
Any letters, e-mails, blog comments, responses on social media platforms such as Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter, or questions written directly to me may be used to share with my blogging audience unless specifically requested otherwise. (Part of) these letters or emails, questions or any other feedback may be used in newsletters, blog posts, columns or up-and-coming books.
